Hypericon 2018 Schedule

Hypericon 2018

Jamie excited to return to Nashville as the Gaming Guest of Honor at Hypericon this coming weekend! We’ve got a lot of gaming and nerdery packed into the schedule, so if you’re coming to the show and want to know what he’s doing—look no farther! (Okay, look a little farther.) And be sure to check out the website to get more info on all the goings-on this weekend. We hope to see you there!

You’ll find the Signal Fire Studios table in the Games Area, where all of the game demos and events will be run. Come and say hi—or better yet play a game!

Friday, July 6th 5:00 PM – Opening Ceremonies – Main Event Room

Meet the awesome (but questionably nuts) staff and hosts for your weekend voyage on the USS Hypericon, as well some of our Guests of Honor. Get the skinny on all the latest news or updates as we kick off, and learn more about the highlights of our event.

Friday July 6th 6:30 PM – Sojourner Tales (board game demo) – Games Area

Learn to play the new Sojourner Tales board game created by Tracy Hickman & Laura Hickman. Acquire story tokens on the board as you move through an interactive tale that changes with player choice and position on the board! 5 seats available, ages 12+, beginners welcome. Prize for the winner! Approx. 90 minutes.

Friday July 6th 8:00 PM – Crowdfunding (panel) – Panel Room 4

Saturday July 7th 10:00 AM  – Writing for Games: An Hour Q&A w/ Jamie Chambers (panel) – Main Event Room

Saturday July 7th 12:00 PM – A Delve In The Cave (RPG Event, D&D 5th Edition) – Games Area

The town of Shadowhaven is afflicted by a strange curse, each night worse than the one before. Its source seems to be a nearby cave which holds the bones of the town founder, a wizard who died hundreds of years ago. A group of heroes must step into the darkness and face whatever lurks inside.  6 seats available, ages 12+, characters provided, beginners welcome. Special gift for all players! Approximately 3 ½ hours.

Saturday July 7th 7:00 PM – Project Ninja Panda Taco (hybrid RPG) – Games Area

What do you want to do tonight, Hypericon? Same thing we do every night—try to take over the world! Create a mastermind right at the table along with a semi-faithful minion, then hatch plots using random items for world domination opposed by your Nemesis. A light-hearted storytelling game where anything can happen! 5 seats available, ages 12+, beginners welcome. Prize for the winner! Approx. 2 hours.

Saturday July 7th 10:00 PM – Karaoke – Panel Room 4

Sunday July 8th 10:00 AM – D&D Podcasting (NPL & ChasmQuest) – Panel Room 4

Sunday July 8th 12:00 PM – Building An Elder God (card game demo) – Games Area

Build, blast, and banish with this tile-laying style game of Lovecraftian construction. Choose between building your own tentacled monstrosity or taking a shotgun to your rival’s monster—or banish huge sections with the Elder Sign! 5 seats available, ages 8+, beginners welcome. Prize for the winner! Approximately 60 minutes.

Sunday July 8th 2:00 PM – Pantheon (card game demo) – Games Area

In the ancient world, civilizations struggle against their enemies using the strength of their numbers, the hardness of bronze and iron, and the powers granted to them by fickle gods. Plagues, famines, and fire are suffered or inflicted while soldiers march to war in the name of the deities they serve. Only the civilization with the strongest pantheon will prevail. In Pantheon you start with a fledgling ancient culture. Grow your population, build temples, advance your civilization, and wage war on your enemies! 5 seats available, ages 12+, beginners welcome. Prize for the winner! Approximately 60 minutes.

Sunday July 8th 4:00 PM – Closing Ceremonies – Main Event Room

Time for one last hurrah! We’ll wrap up the weekend, thank our guests, dealers, and community partners and take care of any last-minute awards. There is normally, free stuff, surprises and other things you don’t wanna miss before you hit the road!
