Lighting the Fire

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally getting the Signal Fire Studios website up and going the way we envisioned it. We want this to be a place to not only give product information and try to sell our stuff, but an interactive community where gamers can give their feedback, wish lists, and more.

We’ve got our initial plans in place for traditional book releases through hobby and book distribution, eBook/PDF products to be sold online, and bonus game content that we’ll put online for free. We’ll be using the D&D 4th Edition, and new sets of rules that we’ll be announcing soon.

So come in and make yourself at home. There isn’t much here yet, but soon there will be!

Good Luck on your new adventure!! Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. With the new site can you update us on The Big Damn Herobook?

  2. Jamie says:

Hey Jonesy! Thanks for joining us over here. While I can’t post “officially” over here, I can tell you that the Big Damn Heroes book is going for final approval in the near future so a true release date isn’t that far off.

There is also movement on restoring MargaretWeis.com to a nice, functional website with real information.

What about the other games from MWP (BSG, Supernatural and Demon Hunters? Will they somehow be continued here or will you be starting from scratch?

  4. Jamie says:

Supernatural is at press now and I’ll post a final release date for you soon. There is news coming soon on the other licenses — including BSG and Demon Hunters! Stay tuned right here and over at the soon-to-be-restored MargaretWeis.com.

When are going to play Supernatural? Duncan is getting lonly out in that van!

  6. Jamie says:

Keith: With all the player turnover I’m gonna have to reboot and start a completely new game up!

  7. whodo_voodoo says:

New Demon Hunters content? Absolutely brilliant news, was afraid that the game might end up being completely stand alone in terms of available material.

  8. Jamie says:

I think Demon Hunters has a ton of potential and I want nothing more than to get more stuff out there to give it a chance to find more of its potential audience. The mix of horror, action, comedy, and subversive humor wins over almost every red-blooded geek I show it off to. Once things become official I’ll let you know more!

I will also be checking back regularly for the “intentionally-vague new game system” annoucement.
    You’ve got me very intreagued.

  10. Jamie says:

Boone: Won’t be too long before you know just what we’re up to!

Hey guys, we are looking forward to a lot of Cortex RPG supplements and sourcebooks as well as more information on that “intentionally-vague new game system” as well.

So, are you guys inheriting the rights to the Cortex system or are y’all working in a cooperative situation with MWP?

Oh, and congrats on getting stuff set up and running. I envy you the future you have ahead of you.

I owned one of the first copies of the Serenity RPG sold by Dragon’s Lair here in Austin and still enjoy it when I get to play it. Looking forward to more more more. ;o)

    Good luck,
    PJ

First post on the new site. I had a hell of a time getting registered. Hotmail simply would not accept email from this site even after being added to my safe senders list. Regardless, I’m looking forward to all the gaming goodness.

Hi guys, Jamie how will your move back to Georgia effect Signal Fire Studios. Also what kind of content will we be seeing next? Hope your move goes well but concerned about the content will be getting here.

  14. Jamie says:

The team started years ago working together remotely from different locations, so we’re going back to a model that’s pretty familiar to us! While moving itself is a pain and will pull me away from some projects for a short time, ultimately SIgnal Fire Studios has some real advantages down in Georgia. (For one thing, our warehouse and sales/fulfillment people are already there!) I’m looking forward to it!

So what have you guys been up to? Been waiting to see if you have anything new that can be used for Serenity.
